The AI feeds on information, your information to bring you under it's control.
The AI is manning phones, call any business, if it's not a human answering, it's an AI.
The AI is putting people out of work. The AI will answer but it mayn't be getting it's orders from a human being.

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Soon and not to far down the road the AI will give orders to everyone and if you disobey them...

The Beast is a spirit, it can and does possess humans, in this case the Secretary General of the UN. He will continue in each as he has from the start to bring all humanity under his control.
